Holiday / seasonal buy note
Día de los Muertos (Nov 1–2) is 11 days out, and Thanksgiving (Thu Nov 26) is about five weeks away. Pork bellies, picnics and hams all slipped again today, which keeps tamale, pozole and holiday ham coverage worth pricing now, and pork butts held close to flat. On the beef side, short ribs fell about 91¢/lb and grinds firmed, so braising and barbacoa programs may find better value in short rib than in ground product this week. For holiday roasts, strip loins and tenderloins eased while heavy ribeyes printed about 8¢/lb above Friday on very heavy trade, so watch ribeye before locking holiday rib roasts.
